Hiking Avalanche Peak

So I totally jinxed myself, thinking ah, maybe we won’t get any snow. Nope, I was so wrong! It has been snowing since last night and doesn’t look like it plans to stop at all. Bummer.

Anyways, last week one of my brothers decided to take an unplanned trip up to visit us for a couple of days. It has been a couple of months since he has been up so we were pretty excited. I had been wanting to go hike up Avalanche Peak located in Boyne City. The peak rises about 1023 feet and 439 feet over the beautiful Lake Charlevoix. The peak is in a park that also consists of 7 miles of mountain bike trails and 3 miles of hiking trails ( also for Cross Country Skiing). Also, it has a 18 hole disc golf course. The hike up the peak consists of stairs, but being winter, we hiked it through the snow. It didn’t take to long to get up, but BOY it was a workout!!

Here are a couple of pictures of the view. The white untouched mass is Lake Charlevoix.

These are great photos and I am glad you take advantage of outdoor snow activities.
